Do you love Justin Bieber?

someone does...

Just flew in a couple hours ago from a last minute adventure to Central America.  We had some fun waves and plenty of laughs with all the guys..More photos to come along the way, but for now as I sit drinking a tea editing at the coffee shop, enjoy this photo of Justin Bieber and his newest fan club...by the way, who is this kid?

Indonesia on film

While I was in Indonesia, I brought along my Hasselblad with me to shoot a bit of film.  I found after shooting so many digital images on the trip, they all start to look the same...Raw this and DNG that, it is refreshing to have a much greater tonality straight out of the camera and to see images with depth rather than the "neutral" digital images that need a lot of time in photoshop to look good.  Here are a few scans from the trip..more to come later

sitting in Taipei

I am flying home right now, sitting in an airport in Taipei on my way back from a 2 week shoot with Rip Curl throughout Indonesia while on  the search for some new waves and uncrowded perfection.  We had a blast on the trip.  Got to surf everyday which isn't always the case while trying to find new waves and surfed for the most part by ourselves.  It was my first real boattrip and I forgot my Dramamine so I was seasick a lot.  Once my sealegs got strong I did ok for the most part.  Nothing a couple trips to teh edge of the boat couldn't fix!  Anyways, just sitting in teh airport with a bowl of Udon noodles and editing away.  Here's a screengrab of the boat and one of the waves we surfed by ourselves for a few days.  Look for the images from this story to appear in some upcoming Rip Curl campaigns as well as Surfer and Australian Surfing Life magazines.  I owe a big thank you to the guys at Rip Curl for choosing me to be on the shoot and our captain and crew for keeping us safe.
