It's always sunny somewhere

After looking at the maps, checking the swell charts, and seeing what the conditions were meant to be like in Southern California, I was pleasantly surprised to get a text from a frothing group of surfers to get on a plane and get away from the rain.  With the thought of heavy onshores and cold weather plagueing home and the chance to wear trunks a viable option. it was on.  4 days. 3 surfers. 2 documenters. 1 hell of a good time.  I must say I have never been on a trip with such a frothing group of guys.  Tanner and Pat Gudauskas along Puerto Ricos own Dylan Graves jumped on the trip to have some fun.  We lucked into some great waves and all managed to get sick from the food.  Here's a couple quick shots from the trip, more to come!

Billy Watson rocks the Pannikan

Driving home from dinner tonight my Dad and I stopped by the Pannikan to get a cup of coffee and a tasty treat for dessert when we ran into a friend of mine who I used to work at Mitchs Surf shop with.  His name is Billy Watson.  He is one amazing Jazz musician and it was a pleasant surprise to see him and hear him along with his band jamming in the corner of the coffee shop.  Luckily I had my camera in the car and snapped a couple pics of his set.

February 2010 Surfer Mag cover

Grant Ellis and I went down to Nicaragua earlier in the year to shoot photos of Kolohe Andino and Julian Wilson while they filmed for "Scratching the Surface."  Inside this issue we shot a 6 spread feature and the cover...I will upload the inside story as soon as I get it...For now, this is a sneak peak at the cover.  Grant shot the land photo and I shot the water shot!
