 It is always interesting what each day will bring wherever you are.  Yesterday we woke up to a 4 hour fogged in drive up the coast that was peaceful and quite among the vast forest region North of Hossegor.  After going home without a drop of water on us, I walked across the street to the hordes of people on the beach as they watched Gabriel Medina, a 15 year old from Brasil win the King of the Groms contest with a perfect score of 20 in his final heat.

Jeff Zevely from KFMB news came over to my house this morning to do a story for the 5'0clock news! We talked about surfing, photography, and fantasy football. Anyways, check out the story on channel 8..it should go live around 5:20ish...

Photo of the year!

2 nights ago I was awarded Surfer Magazine Photo of the Year 2009 for the image Greg Long and I shot together earlier this year! Never in my dreams could I have imagined being a part of this event, let alone winning it. It was my first time at the Surfer Poll and as we pulled up to the Grove in Anaheim we could see a print that was on the front of the building that must have been 20x30 feet! It was a great night and thanks to all my friends who were there who shared the night with me...Here's a few pics from the night and as the winter quickly approaches, I am gearing up and ready for whatever comes our way! Thanks again to everyone who was there and shared the night with me along with Surfer Magazine for putting on the event.

Movement Mag Australia..Paul Roach!

I just finished up a shoot with Paul Roach for his debut or devut (No Friends 1) profile in the new issue of Movement Magazine in Australia to showcase him back on the bodyboard and shredding harder than ever! We got a great range of shots of both him and his daughter Seylah which we are really excited about. Here's a couple of the test shots that Billy Watts and I shot while testing the lights and setting up for when he arrived...Look for the mag to hit stands soon! I owe a huge thank you to Pete, Nathan, and Murray at the mag as well as to Watts for allowing me to use his studio.

Central American Adventure

Here's a little photo montage from a strike mission to Central America last week with Julian Wilson and Kolohe Andino. We ended up staying an extra 2 days to stick out the rest of the swell and scored some great waves and photos...Look for the images to come out in an upcoming issue of Surfer and Waves Magazine in Australia!
